Plagiarism Policy

The Editorial Board of IJATI (Integrated Journal of Applied Technology and Informatics) recognizes that plagiarism is unacceptable and therefore establishes the following policy outlining specific actions and sanctions when plagiarism is identified in a manuscript submitted to the journal.

Authors are strongly encouraged to conduct an independent plagiarism check before submitting their manuscripts. Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, IJATI will perform a plagiarism screening prior to publication to ensure the originality of the work.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act, whether intentional or unintentional, of obtaining or attempting to obtain academic credit by using part or all of another person's work, ideas, data, or scientific publications and presenting them as one's own without proper and adequate acknowledgment of the original source.

Policy Statement

All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Any text, data, figures, tables, or other materials taken from other sources must be properly cited and clearly distinguished from the author's original work.

When plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the case and determining the appropriate action based on the severity of the plagiarism, according to the following guidelines:

Levels of Plagiarism and Sanctions

Level 1: Minor Plagiarism

Copying short passages, phrases, or sentences from another source without proper citation.

Action:

The author(s) will receive a warning.
The manuscript must be revised to include proper citation and attribution before further consideration.

Level 2: Major Plagiarism

Copying substantial portions of another work without proper citation, attribution, or acknowledgment of the original source.

Action:

The manuscript will be rejected immediately.
The author(s) may be prohibited from submitting manuscripts to IJATI for a period determined by the Editorial Board.

Authors' Responsibility

All authors listed on a manuscript are collectively responsible for the content of the submitted work. If a manuscript is found to contain plagiarism, all authors will be subject to the same corrective actions and sanctions.

Multiple and Simultaneous Submissions

If an author is found to have submitted the same manuscript simultaneously to IJATI and another journal, and this is discovered during the review process or after publication, the manuscript will be subject to the sanctions described under Level 2 above. If the article has already been published, it will be retracted.

Editorial Rights

For cases of plagiarism or publication misconduct not specifically covered by this policy, the Editorial Board of IJATI reserves the right to determine and impose appropriate corrective actions and sanctions in accordance with internationally accepted publication ethics standards and the journal's editorial policies.
