About the Journal

Matsnawi: Journal of Tasawwuf and Psychotherapy Studies is a peer-reviewed and open-access academic journal focusing on the study and development of tasawwuf and psychotherapy. The journal publishes scholarly works on classical and contemporary Sufi thought, Sufi philosophy and ethics, Sufi psychology, Islamic psychotherapy, Sufi-based spiritual counselling, psychospiritual well-being, spiritual healing, religious coping, mental health from the perspectives of tasawwuf and Islamic psychotherapy, and therapeutic approaches derived from Sufi teachings, values, and practices.

The journal publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, literature reviews, and case studies that make a substantive contribution to the development of tasawwuf and psychotherapy studies. Matsnawi: Journal of Tasawwuf and Psychotherapy Studies is published twice a year, in May and November. The journal was first published in May 2026 and is published online in electronic format through the Open Journal Systems platform. The journal has been assigned the electronic ISSN 3164-0087.
